today was quite an eventful day. while I was at work, I spotted an elderly man sitting in a chair asleep (Abe Simpson) style. it seem a bit suspicious because people don’t normally sleep with their head tilted like that and their face appearing a bit pale. so I went up to him to check to see if he was okay and he did not respond. I softly shook his arm and asked him again if he was okay and I got no response. I touched his hand to see if it was warm or cold and it was cold. so I dialed 911 right away and luckily the firemen and EMT arrived at the scene shortly. it was nice to see some heroes spring to action. it’s just crazy how they appear so calm and handle the situation so smoothly (my heart was racing and I was like O.O). in only took a short while before they got him some oxygen and the elderly man woke up. I was relieved and glad to see him awake and well. some interesting facts that I have learned about him was that he is 85 and he has the same surname as me (pretty cool, a fellow Moy).
firemen and EMTs are pretty awesome and quite often overlooked. there are too many times today in the media where they give the hero spotlight/aura to celebrities and athletes. when in fact the real ones are the people who serve the public (policemen, firemen, EMT, etc). big props to them for saving the old man :)
